Good graphics and mechanics but this is hardly a game of strategy. It is not challenging in the least and once one applies two basic rules ( 1. Many beats few, 2. In cover beats in open ) the same tactics easily beat the AI on all levels at the hardest setting. Even on the survive rounds, a full attack wins easily. Far too easy and no strategy required.

Thanks for the good game! Please, make something of this kind about Sengoku or Late medieval wars!!!

Very bad, after the refresh....

It a very thrilling and captivating game. This is the game to satisfy the strata gusts out there as well as Civil War historians. One thing to fix though: The cavalry should be more aggressive. Cavalry would over run cannon and rifle positions and this game does show that, but not enough. Youd expect cavalry to be tougher. Other than that a great game.

Shenandoah Studios and Slitherine are two companies which receive high praise for the titles they have created, and for good reason. But Hunted Cow makes very solid titles, also. 1863 scratches the strategy and tactics itch most wargamers love. In addition, it is VERY fun! It was the first title of their American Civil War line and theyve now added more. Very happy with my purchase, asmit is a nice price point, too.

The game locks up a lot on my ipad 32gb

This game is Civil War 1862 only with provision to buy new campaigns. The feature to allow saving games does not work. In some situations, the units have both invisibility and armor, so its rather like the Civil War at Hogwarts. Download the earlier version and get the better experience.

Not saving my progress. I finished the Casual level but after I fight the Standard level it still says Casual. Great game reminds me of old Sid Meirers games. Fun but way to short. Game freezes in the to arms section on level Hard. I would give it five stars if this is fixed

Lower campaign prices, worth my money

Seems a little odd that you’re updating many your games on the same day with “various” fixes when it seems you’re really just wanting to promote a new game.

For some odd reason the game crashes and will never load past the title page. Ive got a 4th gen iPod i hope that this will be fixed because i love it

I own all of these including the tank games. Removed because the developer uses updates as an ad for the new titles. That is an expensive annoyance. Thanks so much for nagging the crap out of me. In the trash with you.

It doesnt go past the title screen before it crashes and returns to the desktop. Dont waste five dollars on this like I did.

I have now loaded this upgrade twice and the new version will not load. Intro splash screen comes up for about 30 seconds, then it crashes and returns to desktop. I deleted the app after the first upgrade...losing all my past history and scoring info...and restored the previous version of the app from my backup. It loaded and ran just fine. Then I did the v2.2 upgrade again and the resulting app will not run. This upgrade is buggy or corrupted. Please fix it! Its been two weeks since I wrote my original complaint. You guys EVER going to fix this? I used to play this game daily. Now I cant. Respectfully, please either fix it or send me a refund. Thank you.

Great game, lots of fun. Highly recommend.

Very good turn-based ACW strategy game. Not all of your men are at full strength, even at the start of battles. The first set of battles are tutorial in that you learn how to move troops and their strengths (but they do not teach strategies). Learn how to position each of your troops and artillery for maximum effectiveness. YouTube has a few examples that can be repeated in other battles. You can replay a battle until you get it right, to test a different strategy or to improve a previous high score. Great pass time.

This game would rate four stars if it had a an undo key. Im constantly sending units to the wrong hex!

Hoovers Gap in Last Stand is impossible. Union forces move very slowly, Confederate forces come from everywhere and cannot be destroyed. It takes too many moves for Union reinforcements to be useful

Fun game, but it crashes constantly. Already deleted the app and wont purchase anymore from this company. #fail
